Government Funding
Australian Government Initiatives
Some families are eligible to claim speech pathology services through a variety of government initiatives. Access to these initiatives is through your GP or Paediatrician, which we can assist to facilitate.
Medicare
Chronic Disease Management plan
Maximum of five rebates for an allied health service, per patient in one calendar year. Patients need to be referred by their GP. Where a GP is referring a patient for more than one allied health service, a separate referral form needs to be completed for each allied health professional.
National Disability Insurance Agency
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a healthcare program initiated by the Australian Government for Australians with a disability. The managing government body, National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), provides opportunities for a diverse range of grant activities. More information can be obtained from the NDIS website.

The NDIS has replaced previous funding initiatives of Helping Children with Autism and Better Start.
Please contact us if you would like any further information to assist facilitating Medicare rebates or NDIS funding.
Private Health Funds
Families with Private Health Insurance can also claim a rebate if they have Speech Pathology as part of their listed ‘extras’ coverage. Please check with your Private Health fund to see if your family are eligible to claim.
