Cancellations
Our session fees incorporate the planning of individualised goals and outcomes, as part of the preparation for each session.

For private billed families
If a short-notice cancellation is requested, defined as being after 3pm the day before the appointment, or if you do not attend the session, this will incur 15 minutes planning and preparation for the session.

For other cancellations, where the request for cancellation is prior to 3pm, the day before the scheduled appointment, no cancellation fee will be charged.

For NDIS billed families
If a short-notice cancellation is requested, defined as being after 3pm the day before the appointment, or if you do not attend the session, this will incur a full session fee.

For other cancellations, where the request for cancellation is prior to 3pm, the day before the scheduled appointment, no cancellation fee will be charged.

Obviously, we’d prefer not to charge for services we haven’t delivered. However, when a session is cancelled at short notice, we have already spent time preparing to see your child, and are left with no time to book in another family. The NDIS funding system acknowledges this challenge for allied health providers, and so funds families accordingly. So, if we don’t charge you for short notice cancellations, you run the risk of not using your full allocation of NDIS funding. When NDIS funding is not used up during the plan duration, it is increasingly likely that your funding for speech therapy services will be reduced over time. To minimise the risk of this happening, we need to bill you in line with the NDIS cancellation policy.
